Seen on the run (July 30, 2017)

sor·row

ˈsärō,ˈsôrō/

noun

A feeling of deep distress caused by loss, disappointment, or other misfortune suffered by oneself or others

synonyms: sadness, despair, woe, heartache

I tried to save a tiny bird that had been hit by a car. It was stuck on its back with its little legs twitching, looking terrified. I felt like throwing up. I couldn’t just leave it there, so I gently scooped it up, but it died within seconds.

Its death was a relief, though. Seeing anything suffer makes me sick.

Watching a fish flopping and struggling on a pier in much the same way when I was fifteen is what made me decide to stop eating meat.
