My plan was to do the main (gravel) trail twice. It was muddy and I wasn’t wearing my trail shoes. But I’d already passed the same guy twice. The first time we passed each other, we said, “Good morning.” The second time he’d said, “Have a nice day” and I’d said “You too!,” which is pretty final. It means you’re done exchanging pleasantries. Passing him again after that would just be awkward. Would I give a quick wave? Ignore him completely? I had no idea, so I did my last three miles on the muddy trails in my road shoes.
