Seen on the run (August 11, 2017)

Boone!

My college town and home for nine years.

Twenty-two (ish) miles. Twice around Price Lake and an out-and-back on the Tanawha Trail.

The morning was a lot prettier than we’d expected. We actually saw some blue sky.

The first few miles of the Tanawha Trail were really nice. We ran through beautiful fields filled with wildflowers and apple trees.

Found another painted rock. Love.

The last few miles before we hit Rough Ridge overlook (where we turned around) were an overgrown mess of slippery wet roots, rocks, overgrown trail and blowdowns (we counted 41 on the section of the Tanawha that we covered.)

We were in a cloud at the overlook which is unfortunate, because the views on a clear day are pretty spectacular.

Taking a picture of a decorated Christmas tree in the middle of nowhere.

One of many, many tick checks.

The over-grown grassy trail and reason for the many, many tick checks.
