2017 started out great. I was running a lot of easy miles in the mountains as I prepared for the Zion 100K. Running-wise, I was in a good, happy place.
After Zion, the trails seemed to turn against me. Along with all of the amazing views, swimming holes and trips to BurritOh! and Mudhouse, it was a summer full of ticks, yellow jackets and poison ivy.
Fall and winter brought me two sprained ankles, bursitis and the flu (which I’ve still not completely recovered from).
Even though I’ve not been running much for the last three months, I ended up with just over 1500 miles for the year, which is a record high for me.
2017 races:
West Virginia Trail Trilogy 50k
Running Highlights:
Zion: the race, the vacation, meeting Cory Reese.
Conquer the Cove marathon (and jumping into the lake afterward!)
Swimming holes galore. Including an awesome new one that Emily and I discovered.
A running weekend in Boone
Zooma with my cousins!
And some non-running highlights
Looking back, 2017 was a pretty good year.
Happy 2018, everyone!
